Professional Growth
Professional growth is a something that comes with the territory of being a teacher in such a dynamic and growing world, and having new classes and students every semester (or year). Needing to keep up with all of these changing variables can easily get lost with all of the other planning and development that happens.
This page reflects my past and current growth plans, as well as any other professional development projects that I choose to work on.

TPGP
Here is my TPGP from my PS II practicum (Spring 2013): Results of this plan were ok - I did better with #2 (lesson planning and pacing) compared to #1. I was able to shorten the content of my lessons, pay closer attention to the time, and give focused lessons. For the other goal, I felt so overwhelmed with planning and teaching, that I didn't feel I had time to delve deeper into the first goal, which was around classroom management. Perhaps it would have been a better goal to prioritize, but good to reflect on after the fact. My TPGP goals from fall 2013 are as follows: 1. Develop 2 new proactive classroom management strategies for the high school level by November 15, 2013 2. Teach until Christmas break using the flipped teaching method using Edmodo to allow for more class time for labs. |
Professional Inquiry Project
Through my PSIII internship, my project was to create a guidebook of sorts for teachers and admin who wanted to learn more about flipped teaching and blended learning. I created the document initially with the intention of distributing a PDF - however, I believe that since technology and pedagogy evolve, so should this "manual". So it is now in Wiki form. Find more details on the wiki here: http://guide-for-flipped-teaching.wikispaces.com/.
